16 weeks
George is over 4 months old now. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was writing about how he is 3 months old. Time is definitely flying. He had a vet appointment last Saturday and weighed in at 33lbs. The vet said at 16 weeks that is a good estimator to a half-way total weight point. So we're thinking based on that George will be around 70lbs fully grown, which would be fine with us. But then the vet said his paws are still pretty big so he definitely has a lot more growing to do. But we're still thinking he top off at around 70lbs. Well at least that's what we're hoping. Haha. Other than that there's nothing new. He has some red bumps on the insides of his back legs, but the vet said that's really common in puppies and it will clear up on its own once his immune system realizes they are there and shouldn't be. They don't seem to bother George at all. He's not scratching or biting at them so he should be fine. We've been taking him to a field to run around in the past 2 weekends and he loves that. We do too. He's typically pretty pooped afterwards which is always nice.

Our "Puppy"
Well its official. George is getting huge. Haha. We're not sure exactly how much he weighs at this point, but its over 30lbs. We have a vet appointment on Saturday so we'll know for sure then. I can hardly pick him up anymore. We had another puppy class last night. George was good as usual. He played in the beginning with this little lab puppy named Lexi. George did his normal routine where he stayed on his back for most of the play. Well at least until he realized he out weighed her by over 10lbs and he could get on top of her. Once that discovery was made we quickly broke them up for obvious reasons. But it was fun to see him playing with the other dogs.
The weather has been sunny the past fews days which is always nice. House-breaking I say is 90% there. We still have an accident once every other week, but we're definitely on the right path. Our biggest thing right now is that every evening between the hours of 7 and 10 he has to pee like 15 times. He goes to the door every time, but its still annoying. We're told that is just the puppy in him and in a few months it will go away. We'll see.

1 month down
I can't believe we've had George for over a month. Well to be honest, it feels like its been a lot longer than that. Haha. George's crate has been permanently moved downstairs and he's done fine with it. We never hear a peep out of him. We put a fan on him at night and during the day and we think he really likes that right now. With all his puppy fur he gets hot very easily. We had already removed the bed from his crate, but by doing that, he became a very loud puppy at night when we were all trying to sleep because his nails would make a lot of noise on the crate whenever he moved. We knew that something was going to have to change. So one night we just decided to leave his crate downstairs instead of bringing it up to our bedroom and we're so glad we did. Other than that, we're just enjoying watching our boy grow. He's over 30lbs now and it shows. We love him so much.

SNOW!!!
George had his first snow day today and he loved it. He would bury is face under the snow and last night when the snow was coming down pretty hard he was trying to eat it as it came down. Very cute. This morning he was a little overwhelmed, but eventually got used to it and I think really enjoyed playing. :o)
Oh the stairs

Another week
So we've made it another week. Things are pretty much going the same. George is getting bigger every day. He had another puppy obedience class last week and was really good. Although it was during his "crazy time" so at times it was hard to get him to focus. He's so good with people which is awesome. He's really good with the other puppies too. He's very mellow and laid back when it comes to that. When it comes to people that's when he gets super pumped with energy. We had family visit us this weekend. This was George's first time interacting with children. I think he did fairly well. George's only problem is at times he gets SO exciting that he starts jumping and wanting to put things...like little fingers...in his mouth. He didn't get to that point too much, but there were moments.
Another thing we've learned is that George has been getting hot in his crate at night. We've had some problems the last couple nights with him waking up at like midnight or 3 am and just be panting really loud and not happy. We have a soft bed in the crate which he hadn't had a problem with up until now. So last night we took the bed out and put a fan near his crate. It was the first night that he actually slept the whole time, even through an extremely loud rain/wind storm which unfortunately kept me up most of the night. But that's ok. George seemed much happier and we are relieved. So we'll do the same from now on and hopefully we've solved that problem.
