George is...our love

So there's not much new with George that I have written over and over...he's growing and learning and we love him. We still take him to doggie daycare a couple days a week. He loves it. He comes home very tired and he's sooo cute when he sleeps. So that's about it. Did I mention how much we love him??

Man's Best Friend :)

Here are some pictures from playing outside with his favorite ball....and his best friend. :o)

60lbs and counting

George is doing great. He's 60lbs now and not quite 6 months old. We've started taking him to doggie daycare, which he loves. He gets to play with other dogs his size all day. We love it too because he comes home pooped. George first had an evaluation day where they determined what kind of dog he is. After watching him all day, they described him as submissive and playful. What a good boy.

The Big "Boy"

George has had an interesting week. He was neutered this week and we have had to limit his exercise/energy while he's healing. That has been the interesting part. George is used to going out every night and running like crazy for at least 20 minutes. We haven't been able to do that so he's having to let that energy out in other ways, typically bad puppy ways. He's over 50lbs now. He's been jumping up at us a lot more and has been craving a TON of attention. We're hoping once he's healed in another week and we can get back to his regular exercise schedule that some of those bad behaviors will back down a little bit. For now we just have to stay stern and consistent with him no matter how annoying it gets.

George is 5 months old!

This weekend George turned 5 months old. Its very exciting to see him getting bigger. Not much has changed though. He's weighing in at 45lbs. We're still thinking he'll be around 70-75lbs full grown. However, his paws are still very big so we'll see. We play ball with him every night in this open space outside in our neighborhood. I think it really makes the world of difference to get him some solid running every night. He loves it. And we'll love how much he sleeps after. Haha. So these pics show his sleepy time. :)

Too tired to stand...

George cracks us up. He was just too tired to stand and drink I guess. Cutie. :)

Almost 5 months!!

George will be 5 months old next weekend! He's such a good boy. He's definitely spoiled rotten too. (See pic with him surrounded by toys). The thing lately with the toys is they don't seem to last all that long. It will only take a day or two before a toy needs to be retired due to holes and missing limbs. So today we bought a new set of what seems more durable toys. We'll see. Ha.

George is developing his bark lately. He'll bark a couple times every now and then. Its a very deep classic sounding golden bark. I know we'll kick ourselves later for saying...typing...this, but we love it. It just shows his personality more and that's always exciting.

Other than that, nothing much new. These are the most important things:]

1. George is getting bigger everyday. Paws still huge.
2. He can sit, sorta stay (working on that), paw shake, lay down and roll over on his side, which will soon be a full roll over.
3. He insists on having something in his mouth when he is outside. Usually it is one of his toys, but if he doesn't grab one on the way out then the walk will consist of him trying to find a piece of bark or branch constantly, which is slightly annoying.
4. He still loves Uggs, but we've determined it is an attention thing. He never tries to destroy them. Just likes to bring them to one of us.
5. He's absolutely adorable and we love him so much. :o)

Just some cute pics

Here are just a few more pics.

16 weeks

George is over 4 months old now. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was writing about how he is 3 months old. Time is definitely flying. He had a vet appointment last Saturday and weighed in at 33lbs. The vet said at 16 weeks that is a good estimator to a half-way total weight point. So we're thinking based on that George will be around 70lbs fully grown, which would be fine with us. But then the vet said his paws are still pretty big so he definitely has a lot more growing to do. But we're still thinking he top off at around 70lbs. Well at least that's what we're hoping. Haha. Other than that there's nothing new. He has some red bumps on the insides of his back legs, but the vet said that's really common in puppies and it will clear up on its own once his immune system realizes they are there and shouldn't be. They don't seem to bother George at all. He's not scratching or biting at them so he should be fine. We've been taking him to a field to run around in the past 2 weekends and he loves that. We do too. He's typically pretty pooped afterwards which is always nice.

Our "Puppy"

Well its official. George is getting huge. Haha. We're not sure exactly how much he weighs at this point, but its over 30lbs. We have a vet appointment on Saturday so we'll know for sure then. I can hardly pick him up anymore. We had another puppy class last night. George was good as usual. He played in the beginning with this little lab puppy named Lexi. George did his normal routine where he stayed on his back for most of the play. Well at least until he realized he out weighed her by over 10lbs and he could get on top of her. Once that discovery was made we quickly broke them up for obvious reasons. But it was fun to see him playing with the other dogs.

The weather has been sunny the past fews days which is always nice. House-breaking I say is 90% there. We still have an accident once every other week, but we're definitely on the right path. Our biggest thing right now is that every evening between the hours of 7 and 10 he has to pee like 15 times. He goes to the door every time, but its still annoying. We're told that is just the puppy in him and in a few months it will go away. We'll see.

1 month down

I can't believe we've had George for over a month. Well to be honest, it feels like its been a lot longer than that. Haha. George's crate has been permanently moved downstairs and he's done fine with it. We never hear a peep out of him. We put a fan on him at night and during the day and we think he really likes that right now. With all his puppy fur he gets hot very easily. We had already removed the bed from his crate, but by doing that, he became a very loud puppy at night when we were all trying to sleep because his nails would make a lot of noise on the crate whenever he moved. We knew that something was going to have to change. So one night we just decided to leave his crate downstairs instead of bringing it up to our bedroom and we're so glad we did. Other than that, we're just enjoying watching our boy grow. He's over 30lbs now and it shows. We love him so much.

SNOW!!!

George had his first snow day today and he loved it. He would bury is face under the snow and last night when the snow was coming down pretty hard he was trying to eat it as it came down. Very cute. This morning he was a little overwhelmed, but eventually got used to it and I think really enjoyed playing. :o)
